Press Clippings:Considering that I took my B.S. in P.R., it shouldn't be a surprise that I've written a few press releases along the way. Care Cards:This was one of the most enjoyable projects I've been involved in. I had a significant charity budget at WXL. I was determined to do something more relevant with it than simply divide it among worthy causes. During Christmas season of 1995, I printed 100,000 prepaid calling cards. We gave these cards to runaway teens across the U.S. in the hope that they would use the cards to call home. The cards were distributed by homeless shelters, police officers, and Comic Relief. Los Angeles Police Chief Willie Williams gave us a press conference, and Comic Relief gave a fund-raising breakfast in our honor. The story was covered by numerous local tv stations (sorry, no video on this site yet - let me know if you'd like a tape), newspapers, and a magazine. The best part of the program was a phone call I received from a mother in Texas whose daughter used our card to call her for the first time in over a year. Until that call she had not known whether her daughter was still alive. Note: I know these clippings are
